rallyman 0 Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) Im thinking of moving the Supp Air Device. I see from the test specs in the Haynes manual that it is tested at 20'c. If I move it somewhere else will it effect the operation of it??? Has anyone else moved it and where to, did you have any trouble after you moved it? welshpug 1,627 Posted March 7, 2009 its bolted where it is as it not only relies on the 12v supply to the heating element, but also the heat from the coolant housing, so it wouldn't really work particularly well anywhere else.
bouver 0 Posted March 7, 2009 Just out of interest why would you need to move it? I think wherever it was under the bonnet it would be approx the same temperature. I would be happy to have one that was working at all!
rallyman 0 Posted March 7, 2009 No probs with re-wiring it, thats happening as we speak , I think its a stooopid place to put it though! However looking at it and seeing what it is bolted to is a different matter. Question - though if it remains colder for longer will that mean the device remains open for longer? Im currently building a car to compete in and want everything sorted, neat and tidy! Things like all the oil pipes etc... more stoooopidness! I want to simplify.
