Can I Take The Power Steering Pump Off

i've just sourced a 205 engine got it off a mate on here and his car had power steering and mine doesn't. Before i fit it can i simply take off the power steering pump and pulley wheel and use a normal alternator belt.

if you have the original engine, which didnt have the P/S pump, can you not just swap accross what ever is different in the arrangement?

You'll need to swap over the alternator/PAS mounting bracket on the block as well, but it's straight forward enough and obvious what you've got to change when you've got the two engines in front of you.
