Engine Building Books

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Are there any engine building books that are a must read?

I have bought "high performance short block 4 cylinder" and another one, from the first few pages i've read in the introduction, it would seem, building engines is mostly about measuring twice, and test building to double check.

but wondered if there were any others that were essential to the novice wanting to understand the engineering and tolerances properly?

Also does haynes contain the sufficient clearance information to blueprint a rebuild of a 1.9MI, or is there a more detailed workshop manual available

[found this now]

ps, have done a search and not found an awful lot

cheers

J
