Bung / Plug To Blank Off Coolant Connections

Recommended Posts

Doof

I want some bungs to blank off some of the coolant connections on my S16. There's 1 on the rear distribution block, one on the thermostat housing and one on the expansion tank...but where can you get such a thing? Anyone any ideas?

Cheers,

Lewis

yup, many peugeot/citroen engines have such bungs, not massively cheap, but do the job :)

Ford ones are the cheapest around £2-3 IIRC

I don't remember needing one Alex.

The S16 has a metal coolant distribution union which attaches to the rear of the block and one less outlet, which is what you need. The fragile, plastic (Mi) type has one extra outlet. I'm guessing you have that one.

Be better off with the metal fella chief.

I disposed of the metal pipe from the distribution housing up to the thermostat housing and couldnt at the time source a housing with fewer takeoffs, hence the use of 2 bungs :)

For a common scrap yard find, ZX diesel turbo air box's have useful sized bungs.

They are ideal for using on GTI6 conversions on the right expansion tank outlet.
