Can A Rear Valence Be Removed Without Removing The Bumper?

Recommended Posts

Atari Boy

This may be a daft question and I have done bit of a search and looked at the Haynes book of lies.

I can’t quite tell whether I need to remove the bumper or can get away with keeping it on. I understand that removing the bumpers can be a real pain.

All I want to do is swap my old valance for a better one.

Thanks

Jonny

depends how stubborn the fixings are, its quite a lot easier to remove the bumper and swap the valence over, I added a few ss fixings myself as they are only clipped on in the middle IIRC.

Yes it can be removed without removing the bumper. You have to undo the 4 bolts holding the valence to the bumper and undo the wiring for the foglight, I don't think there is anything else.

As said, depends how it's held on, every one seems to be different in my experience!!

I have done, its a bit fiddly but is achievable.

It can be done, as said, but is much easier if you can cut the bolts that hold it to the bumper rather than trying to undo them. The rear valance should have a couple of straps holding the bottom as well but most have rusted off by now.
