8v Crank

Recommended Posts

driversdomainuk

Hi

I need a new crank in my Mi16. I do have a spare 8v engine with a reground crank and bearings which have only done 500 miles.

Can this 8v crank and bearings fit into my Mi16 engine if I keep the Mi rods etc...?

Thanks

Rob

ok, use the 8v rods and stick with the MI pistons.....

Are the 8v rods as strong as the MI rods...?

It's fine to use your 8V crank in an Mi16. Use Mi16 rods and pistons. Mi16 rods are located by the piston.

DCC, you need to reassess your source of information.

I don't particularly want to drag this off topic, but I don't understand either of your replies DCC. You been on the orange squash again?

Anyway: see you today/tonight at the Welsh meet in Bridgend.

Just a thought, im not sure since i dont have a 1.9 8v engine, but doesnt the Mi have counterweights which the 8v doesnt? Im sure it would fit but would the lack of weights effect its longevity?

What's up with your Mi crank? I'll take it off you as long as its in one piece.
