What Other 'interesting' Vehicles Do You Own..?

Recommended Posts

Had a bit of a change around since last year, the Austin 7 and the 304 have gone, the SL55 should be going next week.

Now have a 1978 Spitfire:

A pair of R53's, with one being a late JCW. Similar looking but quite different to drive. Great little cars.

I still have the Z3m coupe which has probably gone up nearly 10k more in value since my last post.

Got stupid and decided that an e66 760Li would make a good way to transport my new born first child. Relaxed it is, but it is a pain in the arse to park as it's so big, and 16mpg... But for 5 grand will it lose any value, probably not. The drama will be the amount of ££££'s it burns through keeping it on the road and fed of fuel.

It's a single turbo... Much more reliable than the old twin set up though

I had the 335 twin - if my life allowed me to have that kind of engine again in my life I would grab it with both hands!

Enjoy it! And consider DMS for a 'tickle' they are pricey but the best imo

Bumping this up for the newbies, plus just bought our Smart Roadster back off the ex-wife.

Surprisingly reliable over the 6+ years we owned it, it recently developed a cutting-out issue so she lost confidence in it and bought a Cooper S instead. So, this will be broken for spares, unfortunately. Shame, as it was a real hoot to drive with a 119bhp map and six-speed flappy paddles, and was packed with options.

The Earth strap in the rear is common to cause running problems when they corrode or break, worth a check

Thanks for the tip but it was stripped shortly after. In fact, I'm getting another one delivered today to do exactly the same!

Uneven drive.

Had new rear beam fitted and went for 'standard' ride height.

Hopefully, it's fine.

I have a fiat coupe 20v turbo that I've restored over the last year since I bought it. Prior to that it hadn't moved for 8 years.

I really like the design, although some don't, and it's pretty quick too for a 20 year old car. You very rarely see them on the road these days.

I also have a Volvo TGB1314 converted into a camper. It's a 6x6 with lockers and portal axles.

Then there is a Volvo 242 that is in the process of receiving a turbocharged 1UZ Toyota V8 engine mated to a BMW 330d 6spd gearbox.

Finally a VW Golf 2 Cross Country 4x4 in green with a 1.8-16 KR engine.

My daily driver is 308 SW GT, 181bhp with 400Nm torque.

I drive a few 308 tourers at work now and are surprisingly planted. Could do with more shove (these are 1600's I think) but can carry some cornering speed

400Nm?! That's a fair chunk of torque for a relatively small car! Like it.
