MerlinGTI 3 Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) Just finished my ICE install! \o/ I havent had a stereo at all for about 8 months since a leaky heater matrix killed it, its quite strange having some sounds now I made sure there was no drilling holes or doing anything that cant be easilly undone (ie. not bastardising my baby!) which was sucessful apart from 1 hole in the bulkhead for the main live feed, and tweeter holes in the dash (dash has holes in it from mobile phone holders etc.. so wasnt bothered about a couple more! will replace dash someday) Pics: Specs: Alpine SXE-1350S 5.25 inch components in front doors Alpine SXE-1350S tweeters on dash (in pods) Alpine SXE-1350S 5.25 inch components in quarters (no tweeters) Mac Audio 10" bass tube in boot Kenwood crossovers for front speakers/tweeters (x2) 1 Alpine MRV-T505 Amp in boot for tube (bridged) 1 Alpine MRV-F505 Amp in boot for components Alpine CDA-7944R headunit (4v pre-outs, remote control) Very happy with how it sounds, I didnt want 'ears bleeding' max power sound (I turned doun x2 10" bandpass box's for the bargin price of £60!) but I did want nice punchy bass and a moderatly loud system, which is what Ive got! For those that are intrested the stuff in the boot is all fitted to a 6mm (to keep weight down) MDF false floor and sides. The floor is raised with some wood batoning for cable runs and to 'sink' the tube in a bit. What you think? EDIT: spelling! MerlinGTI 3 Posted January 12, 2009 Will someone please think about the weight Good job though! The stuff in the boot including the boarding doesnt weigh much more than a spare speedline + Tyre + cage, which I dont have lol. Sounds over breakdowns!!
