Heater Matrix Questions

Recommended Posts

Hardgraf

Hello

I'm in the process of changing my heater matrix. Got the old one out now just trying to fit the new one.

Should I attach the matrix pipes to the matrix before re installation or after I've installed the new matrix?

Also, does anyone have a picture of a matrix with pipes attached as I can't work out how the seals etc should be used & the bin men have taken the old matrix.

cheers

Tom

Hello Tom

There is a guide in here by PUGTORQUE that may be of some use to you.

Cheers Jim seen this.

I've got the new matrix in, trying to attach the pipes to the new matrix from inside the car. Very frustrating finding it impossibly fiddly.

from memory, that's the only way you can do it (attaching the pipes after the matrix is home). the o rings go over the lip on the end of each pipe. it's one of those jobs that you need small hands for! at least you didn't start of with Haynes and needlessly remove the dash first..

Thanks for that, worked it out now.

Unfortunately my hands are too big & my temper is too short. After much swearing I think it might be mobile mechanic time.
