Which Way Does The Engine Turn?

Just fitting a timing belt. The book says that the crank turns clockwise looking at the right hand side of the engine but which side is the right hand side?

timing belt end, i.e right hand side of the car.

The crank rotates in the same direction as the wheels when the car moves forward.
