At the moment i have a 205 gti on spax rear dampers and avo coilovers on the front. I wont be to everybodys taste but hey.

Now ive read around the forums and used the search function and most people seem to be going 30/40mm drop etc, im not actually sure how low mine is, but i was wondering if i could get the car handling any better without go any (much higher)

car is used for fast road and hopefully the odd track day.

the simple way is to ditch the spax dampers. They are awful on the 205

Some Bilsteins will offer far better damping

being that low on standard torsion bars is a big mistake, you'll run out of travel, and hence grip at the rear very quickly.

are you saying a thicker torsion bar should also be on order ?

the torsion bar is the rear spring. Upgrade the springrate at the front and you need to change the rear. Otherwise you will get more understeer.

well ive set my front dampers so that they are very very stiff, and they seem really good on dry flat roads..

But probably not so on bumpy roads?

cars, well my 205 felt really good on road with a stiff front end, as soon as you push it hard on a roundabout or on track it was an understeery horrible lifeless thing. Sorting the rear will transform how it feels, if you want a cheap option then a 24mm rear arb would do the trick. Amazing mod for the money and effort to fit.
