Oil Pressure

Recommended Posts

autograsser

been poking around on evil bay and found a uprated spring for the oil pump, the oil pressure is ok on my car (or so the gauge says) is it worth changing as its gonna be juste getting used for oval type racing so 2gear max revs all the way

It's a pressure relief spring. The "upgrade" ebay spring is just a normal spring from an XU10 available from Pug for a couple of quid. Being stiffer, it holds more pressure when you're giving it some before it releases the excess.

Don't pay someone on ebay £10 for one, it's the standard spring from a later engine - £1.61 from Peugeot, part number 1157 11

Any of the 2.0 cars from 1993 onwards - 306, 405, 406, 605...

Just give them the part number (1157 11) - that way they can't get it wrong.
