Which Clutch For An Mi16 With 1.6 Gearbox

i need to get a new clutch, as title says its the 2.0 mi and flywheel and im running a 1.6 gti gearbox.

the cars going to be used for sprints and hillclimbs.

 

do i need to get a 1.6 clutch or mi.

 

would appreciate any help

Standard Valeo from GSF or Euro car parts seems to be the most commonly used ones.

i was thinking of a performance clutch of some sort.

any ideas for one of them

a standard 1.9 mi clutch is about £90, dont get the 2.0 one as it wont fit

how much are you after spending?

are you going to be running a lot more bhp?

if not, i'd say save your money and just get the standard one

but, saying that, how much grief a standard clutch will take i couldn't tell you

The standard Mi clutch is more than up to the abuse as long as you get a valeo or LUK one imo.

 

I've got that a valeo one on my track car & its fine. Its not the bhp that generally kills a clutch but the torque.

 

Also the Mi clutch is a different size to the 1.6 (215mm instead of 200mm) & you need the Mi flywheel if you have standard management for the timing ring which isn't there on the 1.6 flywheel.

im going to be running around 200bhp with the mi flywheel.

i would spend around £150-£200.

and it will get alot of abuse.
