Fitting A Peter T Chip In A 3-row Ecu

Recommended Posts

Hopefully this is in the right section and i can avoid being raped by the admin!

Iv recently bought a chip from Peter Taylor for my Mi16 (Motronic 1.3, 3 Row ECU), to help straighten out the torque curve below 4000rpm and to let the engine rev up to 7500rpm. However, im not keen on fiddling around with the ECU unless i know what im doing. Has anyone done this before and could give me some pointers? Or, to obtain legendary status, some pictures of the inside showing what the new chip replaces?

I thought this would be a usefull topic to create as im sure there are others that have bought these chips and also poeple will be able to reference it in the future. For anyone fitting a chip into a 2 row ECU, there is a guide on Peter's site. :D

It shows how to do the 2-row but not the 3-row. Are they pretty similar inside?

Good point. Well Presented. I have no idea, but it's highly likely yes.

Ok then, i'll just dive inside, have a ganders and see what's what.

I have to be carefull about static though, right? So if i just touch something metal that is earthed before touching anything inside the ECU, will it be ok?

Blood hell, it was a piece of piss. Extended rev limit feels good!
