Many thanks Colin GSF do a lock set, Pug spares too, you can buy a complete set or just one. Replacement requires removal of the door card to access the back of the lock, AFAIK its held in with clips that must be popped off. Jimi
Atari Boy 11 Posted September 3, 2008 I have had the same problem and fixed it so it can’t be too hard. I bought two new door locks from ebay for less than £10. You may well need a lock ‘beater set’ from Pug which is about £3. It is a bit of fiddly, but I found the hardest part was removing the retain clip from the back of the lock. These two threads might help. thread 1 thread 2 I have a beater set still I think, if you want it PM me. Jonny
TEKNOPUG 3 Posted September 3, 2008 Piece of piss. Remove inner door cover (undo bolts holding armrest and also lower platic pocket) carefully prise/un-pop cover. Lock is just held on with a U-shaped clip that just need to be pulled off to allow lock to exit front of door. Requires a little patience to get the wire rod that connects to the latch back on. steve@cornwall 100 Posted September 3, 2008 Swap it with the passenger side - how often do you use the key that side? Has the advantage of using the same key. You'll need to swap the plastic arms on the locks themselves to do this.

Good idea Steve, i had thought of that but given that when the drivers door lock was working you could open it with any thing from a screwdriver to a lollypop stick its probably not such a good idea! You'll need to swap the plastic arms on the locks themselves to do this. now i've done this a couple of times and have found 1. when swapping over the plastic bits, they always tend to split slightly, so they won't clip onto the opposite lock properly and 2. if using the passenger door lock on the drivers side. the key doesn't turn as fully to lock the door, and have found that a good yank of the door handle will actually unlock it that's just experience i've had
