2.0ltr Auto Turbo Into A 309 Gti

Recommended Posts

hey guys, just wondering if anyone has used a 2 ltr auto turbo lump out of a citreon xm/xantia?

it will be going into a 309 gti, originally with a 1.9 8v engine.

my question is, whats the deal with putting my current gearbox onto this engine? is it a simple case of bolting it on along with the flywheel and clutch, or more in depth than this?

thanks!

Will

You'll need the flywheel & clutch from either a manual gearboxed turbo engine or an Mi16 for the timing ring teeth. The normal Jetronic flywheel doesn't have these so your car wouldn't run with it fitted.

The gearbox will bolt straight on but you will have to use a non-auto flywheel & clutch.

Graham.

great, thanks for the info!

im now thinking that an mi is the better route to take, mainly due to easy of transplant and a bit more, consitant, power. still might go for it though as its only 250 quid for the engine.
