Front Wheel Arch Trim

Recommended Posts

Project205

Hi,

I am replacing all the trim on my car with nice new items. I have new clips to fit the trim on with but am unsure which clips to secure the front wheel arch on with behind the red strip.

I took the old trim off so long ago and disgarded the clips hence I have forgotten!

If anyone has a diagram or picture that would be fab. I know the bit over the arch is clipped on using the white lugs and circular grips from the inside of the wing.

Want to get this finished tonight!

Many thanks

the metal "H" sort of clips slide onto the rivets on the body of the car, the trim then clips to this, then the plastic inserts go into the groove of the trim and clip to the other rivets that are visable, they lock the whole thing into place, finally the red (or whatever colour yours may be) trim slides onto the plastic clips.

hope that helps...

That is for the side trims though, I am talking specifically about the front wheel arch trim - the short straight bit behind the front wheel which holds the red trim. There are no rivets on the wing to clip onto I don't think.

there should be 2 are barbed fittings, which slide into the red trim before you push it into place.

Perfect, thanks Paintguy!

I have these grey lugs. Would you suggest attaching them to the red strip first? Working on damage limitation - I have managed not to bend any so far!

That's how I did mine - clips onto strip first, then gently press both clips in simultaneously.

As you can see my strip was already bent, but at least I didn't make it any worse :)

I put my clips on, then fed the strip along.

(you could have slid the red strip off the other wheelarch trim to check how it all goes together)
