Ethos 0 Posted May 31, 2008 Hi guys, Planning a mi16 conversion so before I pay for an engine / everything I thought I best strip the interior out and have a good look at the shell. This is what I'm left with now... oh there was about 2 litres of water under the carpet on the passengers side . I'm guessing some work has been done before on it as not much of it looks oem? Cool, yea the rust on the rear right seat is the worse of the floor. Going to sand down and other small bits of rust and treat them. Btw, I didn't do this to make the car any lighter- it was just to see that everything was good underneath. Glad that I did as I wouldn't of seen that rust and the water under the passengers carpet. Ethos 0 Posted June 1, 2008 Also took the spare wheel off today, it was flat and looking very worse for wear. I've got to have saved a good amount of weight now.... Took it out a minute ago and wow, feels ALOT faster. Not that loud either... Bit nervous about having SO little weight above the rear wheels though. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Baz 421 Posted June 4, 2008 Yours is a 1.9 hodgy, the compensators might work... I like my 1.6 that locks the rears easily, use it to advantage, but then it's predominantly used on the loose. But even when on the road you'd have to stand on the brakes to lock the rears and make it come round/unstable, so i don't think it should be a massive worry really.
