Ok i got a laptop and i want to map my car i could get it done on a rolling road but i think this is expensive id rather go down the passenger sitting in car with laptop rout while booting it around a airport.

i am using the standard mi16 ecu. does anyone no ware i can get the stuff to do this from? i have had a search but hasnt brought up ware to get it from. need a compleat kit cables, software etc etc. if anyone already has a map for a 1.6 gearbox mated to a mi16 engine i could use a base that would be cool aswell.

thanks.

Why do you want to map it? If it is a standard Mi16 engine on standard management it will work very well left completely alone.

I've fitted and messed with an Emerald and I think they are superb TBH, all the features you need plus support at the other end of the phone/email when reqd.

I've taken a car to Emeralds for mapping and it was a good enjoyable day out as well as getting the car set up right.

Yes it is, but its not easy or cheap to do by the time you have bought the hardware, plus you must have some sort of degree in Hexadecimal code.

If your that interested i could send you a few .BIN files of standard Mi16 files for the different ECU versions that are on the engines if you want to see what is involved in them.

I have a few modified files too but i wont send them out to just anybody :)

Look at your ecu and get the number off the top of it, should be 0-261-200-xxx (xxx being variable and not porn lol), PM me your email and i'll send them over. :)

If I can offer you some advice, there's very little to be gained if you have 355 ecu, even with modified cams, unless you want an increased rev limit. Peugeot got the fuel and ignition maps 99% right. I spent ages applying all my dyno knowledge to the other ECU maps, then only to find the 355 had almost exactly the same data!

Mikey, is there any program that can put them into vaguely readable english? Our sister company here makes PCB's and all that and may have which ever bit of software you use and I would like to look at them just out of curiosity/geekness if possible

There is one particular software especially for ECU files i know of but they are a bit hit and miss. I dont do mapping myself i just own a lot of files from a previous business.

I used a HEX editor for comparing and making slight alterations (like trying to find the bloody immobiliser key....) as all you see is just a long page of meaningless code, its nothing like that of a standalone system.

If your interested in seeing a standard code PM your email address to me and tell me what ecu you would like to see and i'll send a standard file over for you to play with.
