2wd Mi16 Or 4x4 Mi16 The Difference

Recommended Posts

Whats the difference between these two. I'm thinking of a 4x4 variant for my 205 road rally car. Is there any thing to choose between them. I seem to remember (if memory correct) that the 4x4 one has slightly less power (158bhp springs to mind) but more torque as a result of different cams.

Is there any other differences. It's an alloy block engine. I know the box is different and I intend to use a differnt box anyway.

Did they come with different ECUs etc, or all 2 row, 3 row etc etc?

Anything to check when looking at one other than the obvious, compression, smoke etc?

Thanks,

Phil

PS tried to search but without much success, sorry if this has been done to death before!

the ecu has a higher rev limit, the cams have a fraction more duration and the lower engine mount (back of block) only has 3 of the lugs on it rather than the 4 as the transferbox is in the way normally.

Hope that helps.
