Swapping Final Drive

Recommended Posts

Well I've just fitted a new box but its turns out it's the long ratio one, seems really long!

I'm sure I read on here about putting the final drive from the XS box in them to make them a bit shorter?

Is this possible/hard to do?

I've also got 2 shagged XS boxes, 1 which crunches into gears the other with no diff.

Would it be possible to just unbolt the bellhousing and swap them over thus putting the good gears on the good diff?

In a word NO, the pinion part of the final drive is on the main shaft with all the gears so youll have to strip the lot down to change it a real arse of a job, try to find a short ratio rallye box or something.
