jackherer 543 Posted June 11, 2003 the oil temp sensor is on the back of the sump. the ones near the dizzy are coolant temp sensors/switches.
Guest joe Posted June 11, 2003 (edited) hi so what are the ones that are just above the oil filter? and if the oil temp swith is the one on the sump how do i replace it if its buggered and is it expensive? joe Edited June 11, 2003 by joe
Anthony 1,003 Posted June 11, 2003 The two above the oil filter are the senders for the oil pressure gauge, and low oil pressure warning light.
jackherer 543 Posted June 11, 2003 no idea about cost but if its expensive from peugeot go to a scrappy as the sensor from most contemporary pugs/cits will fit and its just a matter of unbolting it from the sump and replacing it, obviously best combined with an oil change as all the oil will come out. Get a multimeter on the sensor first as its more likely to be a problem with the gauge or wiring in my experience. In fact, have you had a look yet as the wire often comes undone as its just held on with a tiny bolt and is exposed to all sorts due to its location.
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted June 11, 2003 I bought an oil temp switch from Pug years ago and I think it cost about £8+vat but I'm not certain of the of the price. They are easy to change just empty the sump first. Graham.
