Dave_McC 0 Posted January 27, 2008 as title, the Haynes manual for the Mi16 refers to fitting a new oil seal before refitting the oil pump. It also refers to a new pump gasket. What are these 2? - when I dismantled the engine there was an L shaped spacer plate under the oil pump, but no sign of any gaskets or oil seals. I was planning to put a thin smear of anaerobic sealant around the oil feed hole both above and below the spaced plate. Cheers Dave
davemar 16 Posted January 28, 2008 Can't say I've ever seen an oil seal or gasket as part of the oil pump fitting. Like you say all there is is an L-shaped spacer and that's it. Unless it means the crankshaft oil seal, but you wouldn't replace that unless it was knackered or you were removing the crankshaft. Maybe it's just another Haynes cock-up.
