Hissing After Rad And Pipes Change

Recommended Posts

kilauea

Guys,

I just changed all my coolant hoses for silicon ones and put a new alu rad on it. I have now got a split expansion tank (tightened too hard) but patched it up to test the car anyway.

It fires up fine and temp slowly rises and rad does get hot. So that's all good, and besides the tank I don't think I have any leaks (touch wood).

However.... after I turned off the engine I heard a "hissing" noise, like water running for ages after the engine died. I have never noticed that before and then it stopped suddenly.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Gaz

(should have mentioned - this is by far the biggest job I have attempted on my car)

I have bigger problems to fix now as you have seen! It might have been water hissing out the split I found, will try again once I get that sorted.
