Fast Road Jay

In my mates 1.6 GTI (early model with BE1 box) the Rev counter isnt working, is there any common problems or is it just a case of buying a new tacho cable?? i had a quick look yesterday but it was pissin down - couldnt see anything missing or disconnected?? which cable / wire runs the tacho im assuming its coil / dizzy fed :):)

Have a look to see if your reverse lights are working because if not its your reverse light switch located on top of the gearbox will need changing

Whats that got to do with the rev counter not working? :)

@Fast Road Jay: I just noticed you're in Ipswich, I'm in Capel St. Mary so if you are still stuck drop me a pm and I'll take a look at it sometime.
