Then it fired up was running for about 5 mins then it just stoped so i started checking threw the fuses and noticed that my toad alrm system was in the clove box were i think this leek is.

does anbody rekon that water has got into my fuse for the alarm and is not letting it start up?

For a start water and electrics is a big NO NO , All you can do is dry everything out naturally then check all common things like connections, fuses etc furthering that you wil need a multimeter to start fault finding or an electrician if you dont know what your doing.

Was the alarm actually noticeably wet? It does sound like it might be that.

yes ill try and dry it all out first then go round looking for the fault. is this a common thing with the 205 leeking from the dash board?

Fairly common yes - Normally the bottom corner of the windscreen seal and sometimes the seams going b ehind the dash. Only real way to cure it is to take the dash out and re-seal. They can also leak from the rear quater seals resulting in a nasty damp rear footwell. This can be cured by taking the window seals out and applying some silicone to the seam.

My expirence with a wet stereo resulted in a heater matrix breaking! If youve got wet carpets, broken stereo and using lots of water, that could be your prob!

Yeah, sounds like a leaky matrix. Another great bit of French design, eh? Pull the headunit out and lick it :D If it's sweet it's probably coolant.

Another way to test, is to just open your expansion tank cap :D

Before you go ripping the dash out can you not just get someone to test the alarm?

If you don't know of someone near you, there is an excellent garage that specialise's in alarms in Stourport. They are called Autoguard and i can highly recommend them.

To be honest the first thing i would look at is car electrics such as damp in the dizzy cap.

Check that all your connections are clean and dry (Loads of WD-40 really helps) then start from there.

I guarantee it's a lot easier than removing your dash.
