Main Differences Between S16 And Gti6 Engines?

There is probably a thread somewhere but for some reason no matter what i try i can't find s16 when using the search function?! What are the main differences (internally) between heads and bottom ends? Thanks.

bottom ends are very similar, with small details like a windage tray.

 

the cylinder head is quite a different design, with 2 separate cam covers, different diameter camshaft bearings and lobe circles.

 

also a 4 port exhaust side for the GTi6, whereas both versions of the Mi (and S16) had an 8 port exhaust side.

 

gti6 uses adjustable camshaft pullies and a single tensioner and idler pulley. Mi16's use fixed cam pullies and 2 tensioners.

 

the gti6 exhaust manifold is known to be a far superior example, as is the inlet though the camshafts are said to be quite mild (IIRC it was PeterT that said this) despite producing 167bhp.

Bhp. At what point will they be restricting power?

There are a lot of engines making around 190bhp to 200bhp with itb's on otherwise standard engines then of cause cams would be the next step.
