Xs Vs Gti Doors

Recommended Posts

SwedishBob

I have heard from some people that the doors from XS and other "budget" models are lighter then the GTI doors.

And that it isn't just the GTI interiors that makes the doors heavier.

Can this be correct?

Sounds like rubbish to me, I've never weighed them so can't guarentee. The door carbs on XS's are nearly identical to gti ones anyway so I can't see them being lighter.

I agree. It sounds really strange, but I think it's worth looking into. Might save 1 or 2 kilos. ;)

Have found a pair of XS doors that I can get for free. Maybe that I pick them up this weekend.

Would be great if you could weight it before Friday. I have a GTI door in my garage that I can weight.

I have already done that...there is no weight difference whatsoever.
