Coil Pack Wiring Identification

near on about ready to try firing the 205 up after a very long time off the road.

i got a coil pack from a ecotec vectra but am not sure on the wires for connecting it up.

i need to know what wires are for main live and what are for bank 1-4 and 2-3 also what plug leads go to what plugs

if anyone could help me out i would be gratefull

check the pic out.

That type is usually:

Pin1 Cyl 1+4 ECU

Pin 2 Cyl 2+3 ECU

Pin 3 12v supply

Pin 4 Suppressor

there are only three pins on it?

i guess pin 3 would be black

but what colours are the other two?

Pin4 is unused on that one. So black would be pin 3 etc.

ok cheers, is it possible to connect an ohmeter between the connecting wire and the spark plug outputs to find out which one goes where? or is it not a direct connection when not being powered up?

It doesn't work that way.

 

Pin 1 Cylinder 1 and 4 to the ECU (yellow)

Pin 2 Cylinder 2 and 3 to the ECU (red)

Pin 3 12v supply

 

Which cylinder the HT leads go to, is usually embossed in the casing.

cheers mate, life saver.

 

i have had a good look though and cant find any markings on the case thats the problem, i really dont want to balls this up and fry my ecu or anything. i will have another look to see.
