jonand 0 Posted October 28, 2007 Has anyone done any experimenting with float heights? The R1 manual gives a fuel level relative to the external markings on the side of the float chamber, this can be checked with a short length of clear hose attached to the drain port on the base of the carbs. However, on the R1 the carbs seem to run almost vertically (downdraft), as opposed to running almost horizontally on my S16 / Bogg Bros manifold. This means that the R1 spec is not valid. I have spent much time researching on the web, but not found any useful info relating to my application. At the moment, I have them set so that fuel doesn't flow out the overflow ports (just) at idle - but think this is still too high. Thanks Jon Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
