Quick Q About Paint Codes

Recommended Posts

Guest lazyspaniard

Just off to get some paint made up for my miami blue J'reg 1.6 205 GTi and the code above the n/s headlamp reads: P3MU.

I always thought that miami blue was a MOMY code. My previous miami GTi's have been MOMY inc. a J'reg of the same year.

Did Peugeot do different shades of miami or it's just French, a different code for the same colour??

Many thanks.

a bodyshop told me there was 3 or 4 shades but i cant verify this. if you can find a pic of a limited miami they do look lighter than the later ones.

the code above the n/s headlamp reads: P3MU.

That code is for a non-metallic colour called Calypso Blue, not Miami. It's either had the wrong code put on it, the panel has been replaced with one from another car, or the whole cars been resprayed from Calypso to Miami (and therefore isn't a GTI shell, as they didn't do that colour on GTIs). I hope it's one of the less sinister options!

As for Miami Blue - yes, there are several different shades of it, with a major change happening around '91.

Thank you for your replies.

I must admit I always thought ltd ed's were a different shade.

Paintguy - Yes P3MU is Calypso Blue. Do you know what it looks like?

Here are pic's showing the code and colour. The panel above headlight looks miami + original and I doubt it is not a GTi shell, it has the larger rear arches and I have history back to '95.

The wrong code put on then?

Looks like the wrong code. Calypso is a non-metallic colour.
