8v Piston Measurment..

Recommended Posts

nick

I have asked this question before but I just what to double check before I have the pistons machined.

What is the measurment across the inner surface of the piston where the gudgeon pin goes through (across the piston where the little end is)

Thanks,

Nick

Thanks Damir, but it isn't that measurement that I need.

I need to know the internal measurement between the gudgeon pin bosses (either side of the little end of the rod)

It's a bit hard to explain, but if you look up inside a piston and can see the holes either side for the gudgeon pin, I need to know what the gap is between the two holes (across the piston).

Cheers,

Nick

Ok. i will try to look at my other pug service books , if i can some more piston measurements :)

or if you wish i can take some pics of the piston so you can mark the exact area from which you need measurement and we will measure that for you .. i have some spare 1.9 8v pistons in my garage :) ...

Thanks for your help Damir, a photo would be good.

If you could just measure between the two internal faces of the piston where the pin comes through (the two round holes either side of the piston)

just to be sure please mark the area which you need me to measure :)

(and do you need precise measurement in micrometers or ? will millimeters be fine ? as because i don't have too much measurement tools :) just one (for outer surface measurements ) micrometer , feller blades and other standard measurement tools ...)
