Trick 1 Posted August 18, 2007 I fitted my cobra imola's by cutting two strips of steel (about 5mm thick and 20mm width) and, retaining the existing sliderails, laying one strip across the front of the rails and one across the back. I have mounted the sidemounts to these two steel strips. as per pic The handbrake side uses the original holes for the seats to mount the sidemount, whereas the door side i have drilled two extra holes. Seems strong enough....look ok?
daza4 24 Posted August 18, 2007 Looks strong enough but when I did my seats like that they were just way to high. When sat in the seat if you had a helemt on the helmet would have been banging on the roof and you would have had severe neck ache after 5 mins with a helmet on !!!!! If in doubt cut the floor mounting points out and weld some square tube in along the floor this will be V strong and get the buckets nice and low. I havent got any pictures of the square tubes in place Sorry !! But I removed all of this !!: Hope this helps.
