been suggested by richie i could use kit car blowers to de mist my windows, was thingking, would only need to be in winter really aswell, any one have any ideas for either making up a system or where i could get kit car ones from???

also,i was thinking about making my own vents to draw heat from the engine bay,but how would i get round fumes ect and would it be a wise idea to chop holes in the bulkhead?? lol

I always thought the kit-car type blowers were just a token gesture to satisfy the SVA inspectors. In my experience (used to co-drive in a Mk1 Escort rally car that had one fitted to the dash) they're completely useless. Makes sense really, think about how much heat you can expect to generate from 12V and 30A and it's essentially f*ck all when compared to how much a heater matrix will disipate. Sorry, got a bit technical, but they're f*cking hopeless and they're always going to be when you've only got 12V to play with.

Heated screen's probably not a bad idea, I think they're about £180.

Removing the old heater's easy. Just disconnect a few plugs and the hoses and it drops out the bottom of the dash. No need to fiddle with the wiring otherwise.

you could make a simplified heater box, all you need is something to house the heater matrix and something to bolt the fan into, so a glorified sheet metal box is all you need.

pop rivets and ally sheet?

I am definitely getting some screens on a group buy now, but only a few as its the last of their stock. PM me if you definitely want one and I'll allocate them on a first come first served basis. Price is to be confirmed but will be about 50% of the price quoted earlier in this thread.

The price quoted above is nearly £200 inc vat:

PEUGEOT 205 12 VOLT LAMINATED HEATED WINDSCREEN INCLUDES FREE SHIPPING, £166.00, £195.05 Including VAT at 17.5%

group buy ones will be £106 inc vat.

the batch will be delivered to me for free but will then need to be collected or a courier arranged (very risky IMO, collection from Essex preferred).

As for fitting, its not hard to do yourself, but I have a relation that works for autoglass who I have asked to fit mine, he may be up for fitting others on the same day for a drink or two...

PM sent...

But basically I can get 306 heated screens but it would need to be an order for 10 so are there any other 306 owners interested? Price TBC but should be excellent.
