Guest TB_205GTI Posted May 28, 2003 You can buy a K&N cleaning kit and use that. Clean the filter from the inside and out, let it dry then give is some filter oil. let it dry and the fit it again. But whatever you do, ALWAYS clean it from the inside and out.
Guest ScoobyJawa Posted May 28, 2003 Go to Halfords - buy the K&N Filter Charger/Element Cleaner - open and follow instructions - sorted About 10 quid - but can be used a good few times, and be amazed at just how much crap comes out of it
Guest SP Gti Posted May 28, 2003 I was told by a mechanic that using water and fairy liquid was as good as anything for cleaning the K&N cotton gauze type filters. Never tried it though.
Guest ScoobyJawa Posted May 28, 2003 Don't use a detergent on it. Also, they need re-oiling afterwards anyway (comes in the kit along with the cleaner!).............
