Buying A New Water Pipe - But Which One

I need a new water pipe (one running from distribution block on the water pump across bulkhead to the bottom of the header tank) the car is a '89 1.6 GTi but running a late '90 spec 1.9 engine.

 

Apparantly there are 2 variations on this hose though. Question is which one?

 

The pipe I need is #4 as shown here

 

My VIN plate on my car shows the numbers:

 

400609 and VF320CB6201610552

 

Can anyone advise me if I need the earlier pipe or later one?

what colour is the header tank? Black tank = later hose, white tank is earlier hose. But TBH either will fit.

Its a white tank Richie, but I thought they just came in with the phase 2 cars?

 

Although! Just doing some checking and:

 

PRE 91 CARS states part # 135096 and # 135119

 

POST 91 CARS states just part # 135119

 

So your right - the difference is just in relation to the header tank change! Cheers Richie!
