M@tt 77 Posted June 19, 2007 My Mi16 developed a misfire a couple of weeks ago which upon investigation turned out to be a loose dizzy cap. All 3 bolts had rattled themselves loose so the cap was all over the shop and causing an occasional misfire. So i tightened it up and loctited the bolts and thought that was that. However the car kept misfiring occasionally still and i deduced that the contacts in the dizzy must have become scored somewhat from it being loose as the rotor arm rotated, and on inspection one of the contacts looked a little suspect although nothing significant. I also checked the cap and arm and there were no cracks at all present anywhere. So today i picked up a new dizzy cap hoping that would solve the problem but after fitting it initially the car wouldn't idle properly and even stalled. I popped the bonnet with the engine running again and checked all the ht connections were nice and tight but repeadedly received a shock from the king lead at the coil end even though i was only touching the thick rubber cover on the end. Would this be a good sign that the lead is fooked? surely i shouldn't be getting a shock! the HT leads have only done 4k though from new any help appreciated Matt Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I only noticed as i looked under the bonnet in the dark and could seem them arcking. I also got a shock... they have a bit of a kick dont they Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
