205 Xs Steering Feels Lights

The steering on my 205 xs feels very light, any idea what could be the cause of this ?

Depends what you are comparing it to. If it has PAS and you are comparing it to a non-PAS GTi then yes, it will feel very light. My PAS 205D feels silly-light.

Other causes are heavy loads in the boot, over-inflated front tyres, worn front tyres and tracking errors.

no no no , not comparing it to anything other than how it felt for the previous 5 months

No worries then, that is how they are but if you remain concerned, do check the points I made above. Different makes of tyres can have a significant effect on steering feel.

Does it matter if it's not causing problems?

Do you regularly drive another car with heavier steering? That would make it feel light by comparison.
