Another Reason For Instrument Illuminations Not To Work

Recommended Posts

sonofsam

Hello my friends.,

For the life of me I cannot get the instrument bulbs to light up!

Sidelights are working, fuse13 is good, all the earths are fine.

Dimmer switch is functioning as are the heater control lights

and the warning lights.

Only thing I can think of is the stalk, is this a possibility?

Help..

Ta,

Sam.

I'd suspect the circuits on the back of the cluster, maybe where the plugs push on. Do you have a spare set you could try?

Recently i Had a similar problem. whenever i went into a bump the instrument lights went off so did my rear light units.

I turned off the lights and then back on and everything worked fine.

Turns out it was the stalk and replaced it

As remote as it sounds if everything else failed try a different stalk

B (green):

1. ?

2. ?

3. Instrument lights + (from dimmer) [25]

4. Instrument lights ground [M25]

5. Manual choke open warning light [75]

6. +12V [33]

7. Coolant level warning light [47B]

8. See A5

9. Direction indicator light, right [38A] (taken from the article on the main site)

Have noticed by way of the multimeter that No 2. goes to quite a few pins on the stalk plug.

Gave everything a good wiggle also with no joy.

Will try another stalk, just to rule it out. Hopefully it's that, if it isnt then im well stumped!

Cheers all :(

A quick scoot over to J's diagnosed the problem as the clocks I was using, do you know what

it was what mate, those three liitle bolts holding the circuits to the case itself :D:(:)

Happier than the proverbial pig..,

Thanks again dudes :D
