christopher 5 1 Cars Posted April 10, 2007 The TU3 headgasket is non metallic with firerings Is the TU5 the same type does anyone know?? The TU5J4 (18v) is make of layered steel. Does anyone know if it is possible to use this 16v one on a 8v head?
Sandy 191 Posted April 10, 2007 I've used the MLS 16v gasket on 8v's no problem. There are conventional gaskets for the TU5 about, but the MLS one from Peugeot isn't expensive, so I stick with it.

TKH 0 Posted April 13, 2007 For the alloy block engine use a standard Peugeot, Citroen, Valeo or a proper motorsport gasket (there like the stock item but with a ring of red sealant). MLS are for iron blocks. If you are blowing standard head gaskets you have a problem. My little 1360cc engine revs to over 10,000rpm and has been doing so since 2004. But it does not do many miles. Sandy 191 Posted April 13, 2007 Just to clarify, when I said i was happy using the MLS on the 8v, I was referring to 1.6 8v. I use the OE meillor on the alloy 8v.
christopher 5 1 Cars Posted April 13, 2007 I should have been more clear. This is for a TU24 head on a IRON TU5J4 block. I think this would be ok
drmo 5 Posted April 14, 2007 (edited) I'm using layered gasket on TU5JP block with TU24 head. Works fine, no problems Edited April 14, 2007 by drmo
