It should be fine. Stu's Mi was rolling roaded at 169bhp and that was running the standard pump. When i checked the fueling it tailed off slightly at the top end but that could have been something else. I think the GTi-6 still runs 3 bar of fuel pressure.

We put a motorsport pump in our rally car and it wasnt too expensive.

I've been using the standard pump in mine for the last year, but I suffer from fuel starvation with anything less than 3/4 of a tank!

But I assume an uprated pump wont help this anyway?

Have you checked your pump strainer? May be a little blocked.

We fitted a motorsport pump out of piece of mind more than anything but if you have fuel issues to start with maybe your pump is a bit worn at the same time. A fuller tank makes it easier for the fuel to get into the pump and push it forward to the engine.

Cheers, will hook it out and give it a clean up and see if that helps.
