madvalver 0 Posted March 7, 2007 (edited) Me and my my bro removing a clamp last summer. Should have cost £120 removel fee!!! Clamper was really happy when i handed it back to him!!! Clamper didnt believe me when i said i could do it, then returned 30mins later with a van full of tools. Only took about 20mins start to finish. No idea who the bloke in the back ground is? dale205mills 39 7 Cars Posted March 7, 2007 (edited) The other way to do it my friends, is if you no any one with a tow truck get them to tow it onto the public highway and by law the wheel clamper has to remove the clamp. luggy 13 Posted March 7, 2007 Outstanding effort! . That happened to me and a mate at work. Clamper wanted £80, between us we had about £15 in change so offered that to him which he said Feck off. My lad is a bailiff and he has had a few angle-ground off in the past. His garages is littered with dead ones and soon I must fire up the welder and repair them for him. My old non-antisink Citroen Xantia was proof against any wheel clamp once the suspension had dropped down to the bump stops. Not so my new one though Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

If you take some pics as proof, it shows you havent damaged it and you have given it back to the clamper, No come back that way. Daz_C 8 1 Cars Posted March 8, 2007 I did this a few years back and the clampers turned up mid removal. They asked what I was doing ? Obvious really they said fine we will just clamp another wheel while your getting that one off !! Mmmmm never thought of that cenario. They ended up having to pay to have my van towed away and scrapped after I ripped 3 of the four wheels off and smashed the living daylights out of it. There was no way I was giving them a hundred odd pounds thats more than what the van was worth !!! There was nowt salvageable on the van for them to recoop any money.... I was a happy bunny ! ORB 227 1 Cars Posted March 11, 2007 I dont condone this behaviour, but it was a little ammusing. a mate of mine who is a big angry HGV mechanic got his old H plate Escort van clamped in Wikes car park, he wondered about till he found the bloke who clamped it, and asked nicely to remove it as he was repairing a Wike's truck at the time. He refused. He got a bit of a kicking. My mate ended up in court. The little plastic ticket had fallen off in the sun and the twat couldnt see it sat ontop of the dash. When i showed him the ticket he was having none of it, saying it should be clearly on display at all times an it was still gonna be £120 release fee As soon as he was round the corner I had an airline running through the house an was out there with the air ratchet an impact gun - 15 mins later an the guy is getting a drive by soaking from my mrs in the passenger seat armed with a super soaker borrowed from the neighbours kids Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
