benlilly 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Just been looking at a spare std head I have and thought that good gains might be achievable by building the first 2 inches of the floor of the port up in order to make it more of a 'downdraft' port. Port area could be kept the same by taking some metal out of the roof. Has anyone tried this and could it be done with an epoxy putty such as Milliput? bren_1.3 1 Posted February 27, 2007 firstly depends how thick the port walls are, you might well burst through the ports into waterways or whatever is there. secondly you'd have to spend years working on the thing with a flowbench to make it any good. do you have a flowbench? thirdly, if you want downdraft ports you should use the 405 Sri cylinder head with a heavy skim or different pistons. id say conclusively that its a no-go.
