excellent thanks. am i right in thinking the 1.9 caliper gives less clearance than 1.6? - i didn't realise 'til checking the discs were the same size. could you fit a 1.6 disc and caliper/carrier to 1.9 hub?

ignore me found the search facility !

The 13" Xs wheel won't fit over 1.6 brakes.

You can get the 13's ford pepperpots on also, see photo below of dave Sykes (TT205) when he had some on his hillclimb car for part of a day;

Those are actually Peugeot GpA 13" wheels which were fitted to the original works rally cars when they were driven by Louise Aitken - Walker.

Yes, a friend has Lotus Sunbeam rims on his 1.6 GTi, and Andy Corner runs GpA SL434 13s sometimes on his Tarmac 205. looks pretty sweet i must say too :blush:

Well spotted :)

XR2 Pepperpots do fit though with spacers - I used them before I got the PTS alloys - which incidentally still need spacers!

I use Ford XR2 pepperpots on my Visa with its 1.6 brakes. I had to use 6mm spacers are the front and 10mm at the back but then im running slicks slighty wider than the standard 185 tyres

Theres always standard visa gti 13" alloys http://www.visagti.com/pics/sprint/Image1.jpg and late 4 stud ax gti alloys which are very similar

when I bought my cti, it had no wheels, they'd been nicked! Drove it home perfectly fine on 13" steels from a t.diesel

:blink:

Indeed well spotted. I'd forgotten that dave had run a few times with those fitted at one event & when I saw the picture of his car without his gold alloys I thought they were the XR2 pepperpots. Must admit I didn't study the picture to closely though.

Graham.
