matt205xs 0 Posted December 4, 2006 Is the Heat Sheild really needed on the bottom of the front pipe, which looks like to be protecting the gear linkages? as mine is very loose and i cant seem to find were to tighten it up,
hengti 2 Posted December 4, 2006 i'd say you could probably do away with that one - not the one that clamps to the steering rack though, as i presume that one's there to stop the grease in the rack drying out
jim21070 2 Posted December 4, 2006 The only problem, if you do away with it, is that you'll dump a lot of heat into the gear linkage balljoints and at best cook the grease and possibly melt the plastic balljoint internals. In any case they won't have a long life and your gearchange will suffer and you will run the real risk of the linkage falling apart and loosing all your gears Keep it. It is there for good reason
matt205xs 0 Posted December 5, 2006 i have running uprated gearlinkages so they dont have the plastic cups in them, but if peugeot put it there for a reason then im all for keeping it there, i just need to tighten it up, what is it connected to? i cant seem to find a bolt or screw?
