The coolant sensor is the blue one behind and underneath the thermostat, but it is a dual acting as the French are tight and like to save money.

It has two pins and is earthed through the body of the switch.

Pin 1 of the blue plug wire 47c goes to your temp gauge.

Pin 2 is wire 47b and goes to water stop lamp.

Time to get your multimeter out im afraid, those wires should go through either of the two brown multiplugs

on the main Turbo loom.

Sam.

Are u sure sonofosam? iirc i seem to remember wiring one side of the correct plug to the dash and the other pin i earthed to the engine block for the guage...

i think the sender was green... the blue one was the ecu coolant temp sender, and brown if u have it was for the bitronic fan control?

On normal driving mine never goes past the third bar.

Motorway driving mine actually went a little lower than that even.

Soon shoots up at idle though after a good caining!

I have a brand new Valeo rad/new coolant and lower temp fan switch though:)
