was it hard to change the pins?????

I started doing mine but gave up after realising it would be safer with a helper.

There are two types of pins too, depending on age.

pretty sure the ph2 hinges are best fitted complete with pins

should fit p1 doors too

there may be some adjustment in the striker catch (on the pillar adjacent to the seat belt). it has got a star drive set in its head - could try repositioning it to see if that holds the door in a better position. mine was actually loose before i repositioned it, which wasn't helping...

does renewing the door pins actually help - is it not the hinges that wear? (i don't know)

Chaning the pins on mine has helped, passanger side has no play at all now, one of the old pins sheared in half as a friend shut the door in a petrol station. The drivers side still has a little play but is much better, changing them aslo had an unexpected bonus of curing most of my squeaks and rattles.

replacement pins are oversize if you specify the right ones.

does this apply to the torx screw in jobbies or just the press fit ones?

when you say specify do you go into pug and ask for oversize door pins or are you using ones from another peugeot model etc?

without checking I cant be 100% but I would have though it'd be both types, though I didnt think the Bolted ones wore as badly!

right, I asked about them today and they're NLA!

they are still on the price file so you may get lucky and find a dealer with them in stock, I was advised to use a suitable bolt and nut :)

no idea about the size until an old pin is removed, but something like High tensile or high grade Stainless steel would be ideal, with a nyloc nut on the end.

would a high tesile bolt not wear out the hinge and make the hole bigger over time??

hmm, good point, bog standard bolt it is then!

just also thinking maybe the bolt shold be either sleved or one of them smooth botls with a small thread at the end, so the thread doesnt eat into the hinge body.

if all that makes sence

yes makes perfect sense to me :) the "shank" is the bit you mean.

having it sleeved would be a nice touch, maybe a brass tube and the bolt through the middle?
