futura 3 Posted October 29, 2006 Does anyone know where the width difference comes from between a 205 1.9 and a 309 beam? Is the tube longer on a 309 and are the trailing arms the same? Thanks

futura 3 Posted October 29, 2006 Thanks I didn't find the answer to my question though. Other threads say that the 309 beam is 40mm wider, but it doesn't actually specify if the difference comes from the tube itself or the arms, or both! I bought a 2nd hand beam to refurbish and fit on my 1.9, but the tube is black, which means it is not a 205 GTI one, and I believe it is a 309 GTI one. Before I rebuild it I want to make sure that the specs are the same as my original beam, so I need to know if 205 1.9 tube width = 309 tube width
twowheelterror 0 Posted October 29, 2006 309 beams fit without a problem
sonofsam 5 Posted October 29, 2006 Its in the tube itself so the TB's and anti roll bar are longer also. I have a 309 beam and yes the tube is black:)
