Livelee 0 Posted October 20, 2006 I've just bought a new ignition system for my mi16 309. Coil, leads, ignition amp, dizzy and rotor. Replaced everything but I can't find where my ignition amp is. Is it possible that I haven't got one? If I should have one where should it be? Many Thanks Dan
welshpug 1,678 Posted October 20, 2006 what management is it running? IIRC if its the same/similar to a 205 it'll be on the l/h inner wing just behind the battery near the strut top, might be just behind the coil if its mounted there.
Livelee 0 Posted October 20, 2006 No idea, sorry. I just drive it and pay for stuff when it stops working. Do these pictures help at all? http://www.islandpcservices.co.uk/dan/pug/rad/rad2.jpg http://www.livelee.plus.com/pug/images/100_0118.jpg http://www.livelee.plus.com/pug/images/100_2835.jpg We looked "everywhere" for it and couldn't find it. If I knew what plugged into it and where it goes to and from it might help locate it. Many Thanks Dan
Livelee 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Just looked through my old pms from the previous owner...It's "running mi management and AFM" Does that help? Cheers Dan
welshpug 1,678 Posted October 20, 2006 the dizzy and coil connect to it in various ways. though from the look of it you're running 1.9 Mi16 management, of which I dont know much about whjen theyre installed into 309's!
Livelee 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Well the dizzy connects to the 4 plugs and the coil. The coil has a connector on the bottom that goes into a loom but the amp is nowhere to be seen. If I've definately got one i'll have a better look tomorrow, but it's not in an obvious place if I do have one.
