Which End To Put New Tyres

Recommended Posts

If the tyres on the back are decent with a fair amount of tread left (>3/4mm I'd say) then stick them on the front and enjoy the extra grip, if not, put them on the back so it doesn't aquaplane - it's much harder to detect an aquaplaning tyre when there's no steering wheel connected to it.

Now this explains a lot. As a relative newcomer to the delights of 205 based lust. I set about replacing my tyres at the end of the summer. Put bridgestones potenzas (RE 520) I think, on the front and moved the CEAT spyders (or something like that) to the rear. Goodyears (can't remember model number went on the silage pit).

3 days later arse over tit round a damp roundabout. I've learnt to control it better, but in the rain the tail still wants to slap on-coming traffic in the face.

As my tyre fitter said at the time 'Ceat? Wouldn't even put them on a trailer!'
